Overview
Tutorial
The LinkedIn Hashtag Search Export automation allows you to gather LinkedIn posts associated with specific hashtags, helping you monitor trending topics, analyze engagement, or track brand mentions on LinkedIn. This guide walks you through setting up the automation to export results to Google Sheets or a CSV file, making it ideal for marketers, growth hackers, and sales managers.
Step 1: Log in to the TexAu App and Locate the Automation
To begin, log in to your TexAu account at v2-prod.texau.com. Navigate to the Automation Store and enter LinkedIn Hashtag Search Export in the search bar to locate the tool.
Screenshot Suggestion: Display the Automation Store screen with "LinkedIn Hashtag Search Export" entered in the search bar.
Step 2: Connect to LinkedIn with TexAu
To extract data from LinkedIn, you must connect your LinkedIn account with TexAu. Start by clicking Add Account, then choose LinkedIn. TexAu provides two options for connection:
- Magic Link: Sends a secure link to your registered email, allowing you to log in without manually entering cookies.
- Add Account: Connects automatically through TexAu’s built-in browser extension.
Tip: Magic Link is a simple and secure way to connect without needing to manage cookies.
Screenshot Suggestion: Show the LinkedIn connection options, highlighting both the Magic Link and Add Account choices.
Step 3: Select Your Input Source
Once LinkedIn is connected, specify your input source to define the hashtags and filters for the posts you want to extract. TexAu provides several input options to target specific LinkedIn hashtags.
Single Hashtag: Enter a single hashtag in the LinkedIn Hashtag Search URL field to search for posts related to that hashtag. For instance, if you’re monitoring posts under #DigitalMarketing, enter a LinkedIn search URL that targets this hashtag.
Google Sheet or CSV for Multiple Hashtags: If you need to monitor multiple hashtags, use a Google Sheet or CSV file. Create a list of hashtags in a Google Sheet or CSV file, with each hashtag on a separate line. Then, paste the Google Sheet URL or upload the CSV file to TexAu. TexAu will use each entry as a search term, enabling you to track posts associated with multiple hashtags simultaneously.
LinkedIn Filters: When constructing your LinkedIn Hashtag Search URL, you can refine your results further by adding filters, such as:
- Date Range: Narrow down the search to recent posts (e.g., past week, month).
- Language: Specify the language of posts, if needed.
These filters allow for more targeted results, helping you capture only the most relevant posts related to each hashtag.
Screenshot Suggestion: Show the input source options screen with LinkedIn Hashtag Search URL, Google Sheet, and CSV options.
Step 4: Schedule the Automation (Optional)
If you want the automation to run at specific intervals or times, use the scheduling feature. Click Schedule and set the date and time you’d like to run the automation. You can also configure Recurrence Frequency to automatically repeat the automation:
- At Regular Intervals (e.g., every hour, every 6 hours)
- Once
- Every Day
- On Specific Days of the Week (e.g., Mondays and Thursdays)
- On Specific Days of the Month (e.g., 1st and 15th)
- On Specific Dates (e.g., November 20)
Scheduling the automation is ideal if you need to monitor hashtags over time to keep track of ongoing trends.
Screenshot Suggestion: Display the scheduling interface with options to set start time and frequency.
Step 5: Set an Iteration Delay (Optional)
To avoid triggering LinkedIn’s security systems, set an Iteration Delay between each extraction to simulate natural usage. Define a Minimum Delay and Maximum Delay to vary the time interval between each request, creating a randomized pattern. Delays can be set in seconds, minutes, hours, or days depending on your requirements.
Screenshot Suggestion: Include a screenshot of the Iteration Delay settings with fields for Minimum Delay, Maximum Delay, and time units.
Step 6: Choose Your Output Mode (Optional)
The Output Mode in TexAu allows you to select how your data is stored and exported. Choose from either Google Sheets or CSV file formats to manage and analyze your data.
- Export Options: Select Google Sheets or CSV file to store the extracted data. If you choose Google Sheets, connect your Google account to enable a direct export to Google Drive, simplifying data sharing.
- Output Management:
- Append (Default): Adds each new extraction to the end of previous data entries, helping you keep a running log of posts.
- Split: Saves results in a separate file for each run, useful if you want distinct data sets from each extraction.
- Overwrite: Replaces previous data with new results, helpful when tracking only the latest updates.
- Duplicate Management: Enable Deduplicate to remove any duplicate entries between extractions, ensuring your data stays clean and organized.
Tip: Exporting directly to Google Sheets allows you to collaborate and analyze data in real-time, making it an efficient choice for team projects.
Screenshot Suggestion: Show the output mode options screen, with Google Sheets, CSV, and Deduplicate options highlighted.
Step 7: Run the Automation on Cloud or Desktop
After setting up your configurations, click Run to start the automation. TexAu offers flexibility by allowing you to run the automation on Cloud or Desktop:
- Cloud: This option runs the automation from TexAu’s servers, which is convenient if you don’t need your device’s IP address.
- Desktop: Choose this option if you prefer running it locally, using your computer’s IP to simulate manual activity.
Tip: Running the automation on Desktop mode saves cloud run-time costs and provides greater control over the process.
Screenshot Suggestion: Show the Run button with Cloud and Desktop options.
Step 8: Access the Data from the Data Store
Once the automation is complete, go to the Data Store section in TexAu to view your collected data. Locate the LinkedIn Hashtag Search Export automation and click See Data to open or download your results.
Screenshot Suggestion: Display the Data Store screen with the “See Data” button highlighted.
The LinkedIn Hashtag Search Export automation is a powerful tool for collecting and analyzing LinkedIn posts based on specific hashtags. With options for scheduling, flexible input sources, and direct export to Google Sheets or CSV, TexAu simplifies LinkedIn data collection, making it easier to monitor trends, track engagement, and analyze relevant content.
