Overview
Tutorial
The LinkedIn Profile Scraper automation allows you to collect detailed information from LinkedIn profiles, including job titles, companies, locations, and education details. This tool is perfect for recruiters, sales teams, and marketers who need organized data on potential leads or candidates. Follow this guide to configure the automation, with options to export data to Google Sheets or CSV for streamlined tracking and analysis.
Step 1: Log in to the TexAu App and Locate the Automation
Log in to your TexAu account at v2-prod.texau.com. Go to the Automation Store and search for LinkedIn Profile Scraper to locate the tool quickly.
Step 2: Connect to LinkedIn with TexAu
To allow TexAu to access LinkedIn profile data, connect your LinkedIn account. Click Add Account and select LinkedIn. TexAu offers two secure connection methods:
- Magic Link: Sends a secure link to your email, letting you log in without handling cookies.
- Add Account: Connects directly via TexAu’s built-in browser extension, making setup quick and straightforward.
Tip: Magic Link is a fast and secure option, eliminating the need for cookie management.
Step 3: Select Your Input Source
With LinkedIn connected, define the input source to specify which profiles you want to scrape. TexAu allows you to input a single LinkedIn Profile URL or upload a list of URLs using Google Sheets or CSV.
- Single Profile URL: For a one-time scrape, enter the LinkedIn Profile URL of the target profile. This is useful if you’re analyzing a specific lead or candidate.
- Google Sheet or CSV for Multiple Profiles: To gather data from multiple profiles, use a Google Sheet or CSV file. List each LinkedIn Profile URL in a separate row, then paste the Google Sheet URL or upload the CSV file in TexAu. This setup allows you to extract data from many profiles in one run, saving time.
- Filtering Options: For bulk profile scraping, you can add filters such as location or job title in your LinkedIn searches. This helps you focus on profiles that align with your goals, ensuring relevant data collection.
Step 4: Schedule the Automation (Optional)
If you want to run the automation at specific times, configure the Schedule settings. Click Schedule to set the start date and time, or choose a Recurrence Frequency to repeat the automation:
- At Regular Intervals (e.g., every 8 hours or every day)
- Once
- Every Day
- On Specific Days of the Week (e.g., every Monday and Wednesday)
- On Specific Days of the Month (e.g., the 1st and 15th)
- On Specific Dates (e.g., February 10)
Scheduling can help you regularly update lead lists, keeping your data current.
Step 5: Set an Iteration Delay (Optional)
To simulate natural browsing behavior, set an Iteration Delay to control the interval between each profile extraction. Configure Minimum Delay and Maximum Delay values to introduce variability, helping avoid detection. Adjust this delay in seconds, minutes, hours, or days, based on your needs.
Screenshot Suggestion: Include a screenshot of the Iteration Delay settings, showing Minimum Delay, Maximum Delay, and time units.
Step 6: Choose Your Output Mode (Optional)
In Output Mode, select how you want to save and organize the extracted data. Exporting data to Google Sheets or CSV file allows for easy sharing and tracking.
- Export Options: Choose Google Sheets or CSV file as your output format. Link your Google account if you select Google Sheets, enabling direct export to Google Drive.
- Output Management:
- Append (Default): Adds each new extraction to the end of the existing file, creating a cumulative list of profiles.
- Split: Each automation run creates a new file, useful for keeping data organized by session.
- Overwrite: Replaces previous data with the latest extraction, ideal if you only need the most recent profile data.
- Duplicate Management: Use Deduplicate to automatically remove duplicate entries, ensuring clean and organized data.
Tip: Google Sheets is ideal for team collaboration, allowing everyone to access and update profile data in real-time.
Step 7: Run the Automation on Cloud or Desktop
Once all configurations are complete, click Run to start the automation. Choose whether to run on Cloud or Desktop mode:
- Cloud: Runs the automation on TexAu’s servers, ideal for hands-free operation.
- Desktop: Run locally on your device if you prefer using your IP address, which can help simulate manual browsing.
Tip: Running automations on Desktop mode saves cloud runtime costs and provides more control over task execution.
Step 8: Access the Data from the Data Store
After the automation completes, go to the Data Store section in TexAu to access the extracted profile data. Locate the LinkedIn Profile Scraper automation and click See Data to view or download the results.
The LinkedIn Profile Scraper automation simplifies data collection from LinkedIn profiles, making it easy to gather essential information for recruiting, sales, or market research. With scheduling options, bulk profile scraping, and export to Google Sheets or CSV, this tool supports organized, effective lead generation and data-driven outreach.
